Info for Every US
Tax Exempt Organization
The Latest IRS Data Available for Foundations, Trusts, Charitable Organizations & More.
CharityBrowser provides a customized, on-demand presentation of data on every active tax exempt entity (foundations and non-profit organizations) for each state in the US. The information comes from IRS records and can be easily imported into any spreadsheet or database application.
Each CharityBrowser CD features two versions of the data--an Excel file, and an ACSII tab-delimited text file for users wishing to import the data into other spreadsheet or database applications, such as Access, FileMaker Pro, etc.
The following information is shown for each organization listed in a CharityBrowser database: organization name; address; city; state; zip; phone when known; contact person when known; Employer Identification Number (EIN); the tax-year of the data; total assets; total revenues; the year the organization became tax exempt (ruling year); National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities code when provided, NTEE code description and more!
CharityBrowser is the ultimate research tool for those interested in foundations, associations, charitable trusts, nonprofit organizations, etc. Because we acquire new data from the IRS before we create your CD, you cannot find fresher information than what's on the CharityBrowser CD. And unlike other resources that don't track organizations if they are too small, CharityBrowser CDs contain literally every tax exempt entity currently registered as active by the IRS--for any state in the US.
In addition to the two versions of the CharityBrowser data, each CharityBrowser CD also contains 6 special ready-to-print reports in .pdf format (requires Adobe Acrobat to read/print). These custom reports break the data into two categories--foundations, and all entities. For each category there are three reports: one showing the data by city name, one that displays the information sorted by entity name, and one that shows the data by asset amount. Please use the Sample Reports link to view the .pdf reports and see screen shots of the Excel database and text-file.
